Morning,
I am looking to start a small Guernsey crochet community circle or stitch along often known as CaLs.
I find crochet very mindful and started just before covid lockdowns but truly found the benefit when in the lockdowns with my anxiety. For the last 6 years itās had a positive impact with calming the mind in our busy lives.
It would be lovely if we could align a mindful crochet gathering to local projects and I have reached out to a couple of local organisations to see if this is possible. I am thinking myself of making some twiddle muffs which help people with dementia, Alzheimerās and autism and it would be lovely to have company with that project.
Equally sitting as a crochet circle working on individual crochet projects is absolutely perfect too as we can share our knowledge and skills.
Please contact me if you would be interested and we can discuss further.

Crochet mindfulness is the practice of using the repetitive, tactile motions of crocheting to achieve a calm, meditative state, reducing stress and fostering present-moment awareness. By focusing on rhythmic, simple stitchesālike moss stitch or single crochetāpractitioners ground themselves, allowing thoughts to settle while reducing anxiety.Ā
Key Aspects of Mindful Crochet:
⢠Repetitive Motion: Looping yarn over a hook creates a rhythmic, soothing action that mimics meditation.
⢠Tactile Focus: The sensation of the yarn and hook helps ground individuals in the present, diverting attention from daily worries.
⢠Flow State: The āin the zoneā feeling when completely immersed in the project.
⢠Non-Judgmental Awareness:Focusing on the process rather than perfection or the finished product.Ā
