When introducing yourself on a someone’s PROFESSIONAL Social Media pages like LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook, it's important to be brief, professional, and clear. It is not right to be sending messages with unprofessional introductions or salutations such as,
- Hello Dear, Hope you are fine?
- Hi there, I saw you on LinkedIn and want to connect
- My Dear, How are you?
We are not friends so introduce yourself properly and professionally to receive good and prompt answers.
Don’t call us dear and sweetheart – “we no reach there yet”
Here is an example of how you could introduce yourself:
Introduction: Give a good or catchy subject line for your Introduction Example: Happy to Connect with you and learn from you; Opportunity to tap into Rich experience
Example of the body of your message.
Hello ######
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Samuel, and I came across your profile on LinkedIn. I see you have good your experience in ###x industry and would like to connect with you and learn from you.
I presently work as [Your current job title and employer] and my experience and skill sets align with [### industry I would love to learn more about your experience and any potential opportunities that might come up along the way in my area of expertise.

It's also important to personalize your message, and mention the exact reason for connecting with the recipient, Avoid sending wholesale or generic messages as it might be ignored.
