Team Ghana Dazzles with Colour, Culture and Confidence at Glasgow 2026 Opening Ceremony!

GLASGOW, Scotland – Team Ghana delivered a spectacular display of colour, culture and national pride during the Opening Ceremony of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, held at the SEC Hydro.

Captivating thousands inside the iconic arena and millions watching around the world, the Ghanaian contingent marched with confidence in beautifully crafted red, gold and green Kente Batakari, the iconic traditional smock from northern Ghana that symbolises bravery, strength, heritage and national pride.

The striking attire blended the rich artistry of Kente with the timeless Batakari, celebrating Ghana’s cultural diversity while making one of the ceremony’s most memorable appearances.

Fugu festival highlight

Highlights from fugu Festival.
Positives
1. It was exciting program with a lot of vendors showcasing their nice goods
2. Great cultural displays
Where improvement is needed
1. Publicity was very low, a lot of people didn’t know the was a fugu festival on going
2.Timely wasn’t the best ideally, March will be best due to hype around smocks during March.
It was unfortunate the timing clashed with the almighty Pitch program.
Way foward
Ideally, because it was the first time. There will be lapses. Fugu festival look promising if the organizers will put in more efforts.
