MOON SIGHTING OR MOON FIGHTING : ANBARIYA YIGYA!
Apart from Anbariya, two sets of people emerged in Tamale from this year's Ramadan.
The Global Moon Followers and
The Pseudo-Local Moon Followers.
The position of the Global Moon Followers has been that Global Moon Following allows for Unity of observance of fasting and celebration of the Eid(s). This group of people include Afa Basha and his followers and the Tijaniya Faith.
However, Global Moon Followers have lost their stands this year round because the crescent was sighted by no less a country than Afghanistan on April 30, 2022 and so Eid had to be observed the following day May 1, 2022. Global Moon Followers betrayed their stands, since, perhaps Saudi Arabia predictably could not sight the crescent the same day as Afghanistan. Could it be that Afghanistan is not part of the globe? Could it be that Afghanistan cannot be located on the planet Earth?
The so-called Global Moon Followers are therefore Saudi Moon Followers against the appeal by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that NO COUNTRY SHOULD FOLLOW THEIR (LOCAL) MOON SIGHTING. This defeats their appeal for unity argument.
The Pseudo-Local Moon Followers
So-called because, until the beginning of Ramadan this year, they never believed in Local Moon Sighting and always believed in Saudi Moon Sighting. The National Chief Imam's Office constitutes this constituency. The group started with Local Moon Sighting and ended with Fast-Pause-Break position: a position that is very alien.
If the Chief imam's office was cocksure of the alleged sighting of the moon in Wa, why pause on May 2, and celebrate the Eid on May 3. Only one reason was given. 'Because we had already planned to celebrate the Eid on Tuesday' says the spokesperson in Dagbani. Where is the Fiqh and the Sunnah of the Prophet you are applying as you claimed in your introductory remarks?
ANBARIYA'S POSITION
Anbariya's position has always been loud and clear: viz-a-viz, Local Moon Sighting in strict adherence to the prophetic tradition that we should start the fast at the onset of the crescent and break if it is sighted on 29th, otherwise, we complete the 30 day period. That is why all the splinter groups at one time or another, observe and or celebrate with Anbariya.
The alleged sighting of the moon in both Wa and Kumbungu could not be confirmed, hence our completion of the fast in 30 days as instructed by the Prophet.
Therefore, Anbariya WILL NOT YIELD TO THE PRESSURES OF BLACKMAIL AND HYPOCRISY. This is what makes Anbariya outstanding. This is what makes Anbariya exceptionally extraordinarily taller!
