Weavers from Greece and Cyprus ( workshop of the Cyprus Handicraft Service) are working with traditional looms on Eleni's Zikou designs. The handwoven textile, product of their laborious work, is waterproofed with nanotechnology materials, biodegradable and environmentally friendly, when the product will be used in making shoes. The waterproofing protects against dirt and keeps stable the colors.
Quality control of the textile is taking place before its own delivery to the craftsmen- shoemakers, who treat it with special techniques, crafting each shoe individually. The material which is used for manufacturing the shoes is leather and it is perfectly compatible with the skin. Both, quality wise and aesthetic, are in an harmonisation with a noble raw material of weavery: 100% mercerized cotton. and tested for harmful substances according to Oeko- Tex Standard 100 64110/GR. In Point Loom we attempt dynamically with traditional ways to produce textile which will be used in modern goods. The collection Fall/ Winter 2016 is our first creation in shoes.
