The mystique of the pitaya flower…also known as Moonflower or Queen of the Night. The striking flower blooms at dusk & lasts only one night before wilting. During its one 1 night bloom…it’s pollinated by nocturnal moths & bats. I captured these huge beauties blooming in our hotel’s garden tonight on the shores of Lake Peten Itzá ~

A rainbow halo in the skies of Antigua today ~
Known as a sun halo, it appears like a circular rainbow around the sun, visible bright during the day. Halos around the sun are caused by the refraction or splitting of sunlight by ice crystals in the atmosphere. Circular halos specifically are produced by cirrus clouds, which are thin, detached, hair like clouds
