Totally different set of skills from what I’m used to, looks very rough, skills far from perfect, but it holds together and works just fine. Excited to see this pair through to the finish!

Turning the V‑S1 into a dress shoe with Japanese Tochigi top‑grain leather and full leather soles. Keeping the original plastic heel counter for that subtle sneaker touch.

Next up: Will try to do the Goodyear welt for the soles, pushing this sneaker model into true dress shoe territory.

From flat sole to high heel.

I reworked the original upper with added panels to match a pointed high‑heel silhouette, finished with a full leather outsole.

Upper completed.

It’s way more work than it looks to turn a flat sole sneaker into a high heel cut, especially while keeping the original upper intact and hiding the sanded transitions.

𝗔𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗝𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗡 – 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗛𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗩𝗲𝗿.

Instead of a full recon, this time I’ll be modifying the original upper to fit the high heel silhouette.

Turning flat-sole sneakers into heels is a whole different category, the patterns don’t line up at all. To get a proper fit, I first have to develop a high heel version pattern, then adapt the sneaker upper around it. That way the upper doesn’t just bulk up from being bent, especially the toe area.

It’s actually more complicated than a full recon: splitting panels, adding extra pieces, reshaping cuts with slightly different forms, etc., all to make the sneaker flow naturally into a heel.

Mock-up pair finally complete. First time making full leather soles, learned a lot along the way. A few tweaks still needed, but overall ready to move forward to the actual pair.

This is not the final colorway, just a quick mock‑up using scrap leathers to test the pattern & get a feel for a full‑leather version of the V‑S1.

Next, I’ll attempt to install a full leather sole. Once the construction and technique are finalized, I’ll settle on the colorway — most likely a black leather base with a hint of white.
