Stop storing clothes in dry cleaner plastic. That plastic is only for transport and hygiene. Leaving it on does not allow garments to breathe. It traps humidity especially in Hong Kong which causes mould, yellowing and oxidation even on freshly cleaned garments. 🚐

Reusable fabric bags sound eco friendly but they are costly and especially not waterproof in rainy or typhoon seasons and make garment identification difficult. Fabric garment bags are better for storage not transportation. ♻️

Best practice remove the plastic as soon as you get home and recycle it or return it to your dry cleaner.

Quick differences between laundry and dry cleaning 🤓

Dry cleaning uses a solvent instead of water. It is ideal for delicate or structured fabrics that can shrink or lose shape with heat or moisture.🧪👨‍🔬👩‍🔬

Laundry uses water and detergent. It is perfect for everyday washable items like cotton, denim, towels and bedding.🧼💦

Preserving a sentimental leather bag with all its stories and patina is always a pleasure at Jeeves.
This Italian leather bag is over forty years old and once belonged to our clients father. It arrived with dust, a musty smell and deep absorbed dirt on the leather that was no longer hygienic to use. 👜♥️🧼

Over several weeks our team cleaned the interior and exterior, removed the embedded grime, moisturized the leather to prevent hardening or cracking, and hand polished the hardware while keeping its original character. We also sourced new genuine leather handle wraps to replace the deteriorated ones so the bag can continue to age beautifully. 🔬🧼🧪🫧🤓🪥🧽
