Delighted to be a part of the Brand Design Awards Ceremony & Hong Kong Design Summit 2024, and actively engage in the sustainability conference sharing section.
At the heart of sustainability lies the promotion of ecological consciousness, the concept of loop-recycling, and closing the loop. However, the essence of sustainability goes beyond these principles, encompassing cultural and social research, practical applications, and overall development.
Invisibilis Moveré (IM), our brand, focuses on the cultural identity of Hong Kong, emphasizing the significance of degradability in materials. Our latest project, MIHK (Made in Hong Kong), bridges the gap between sustainability and the promotion of local culture, aligning with the contemporary positioning of 'Made in Hong Kong.'
Our founder, Odelia, identified the ongoing dilemma between quality and quantity during her thesis research in early 2017. As individuals, we assume various roles throughout the day, shifting gears in different situations. Odelia shares her perspective: 'When making final production decisions, my entrepreneurial mindset tends to favor cost-effective options. However, as a designer, I prioritize design focus above all else. Yet, as a customer of IM, I repeatedly questioned myself, 'What do I expect and desire from this brand (IM)?' QUALITY, RARITY, CRAFTSMANSHIP.' This realization formed the foundation of IM's philosophy: 'We care about what you wear; we care about how you feel using it.' It is within this context that MIHK came to fruition.
