From the Adriatic to interior design.

What once drifted beneath the surface of the sea has been transformed into a new design statement.

Unveiled during E1 Dubrovnik GP 2026, the Krie x Altera armchairs bring Krie’s signature aesthetic into the world of interiors, merging contemporary luxury with responsible craftsmanship.

Crafted from recycled wood and upholstered in ECONYL® regenerated nylon created from discarded fishing nets collected from the Adriatic, each piece is filled with recycled textile fibres produced in collaboration with Humana Nova, a social cooperative dedicated to creating opportunities for marginalised communities.

More than an object, each armchair embodies a dialogue between design, sustainability and social impact.

Because today, fashion no longer ends in the wardrobe.

During the three days of the E1 Dubrovnik GP, the fashion shows by Krie Design also featured uniforms we designed for Philip Morris Zagreb.

Crafted from regenerated ECONYL® nylon, made from discarded fishing nets and other nylon waste, they demonstrate that sustainable design belongs not only on the runway, but in everyday life.

After more than a decade of participating in Green Fashion Week under the patronage of the United Nations, followed by showcasing Krie Design at Expo 2020 Dubai, and presenting sustainable fashion initiatives at global platforms such as ChangeNOW Paris and New York Climate Week supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, E1 Series recognized the impact of Krie Design and the Krie x Provir movement.

As E1 founder Alejandro Agag said:

During E1 Dubrovnik GP, Krie Design collections were presented in the iconic Sponza Palace and on St. Pietro Island, showcasing how discarded fishing nets can become premium fashion through ECONYL® regenerated nylon.

The event brought together some of the world’s most recognized names from sport, business, sustainability and public life, including Rafael Nadal, LeBron James, Kyle Kuzma and his fiancée Winnie Harlow, Alejandro Agag, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, former President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, MEP Nikolina Brnjac, Prof. Carlos M. KARAKA – Future Adriatic Experience

MORE THAN AN EVENT. A MOVEMENT.

On board the historic Karaka ship, the Adriatic became a classroom, a workshop, and a meeting point for ideas about its future.

What started two years ago as a collaboration between fashion and fishing has grown into the Krie x Provir movement — a national initiative that has already removed more than 120 tons of discarded fishing nets from the Adriatic Sea and coastline.

As part of E1 Dubrovnik GP 2026, children from Centar Maslina Dubrovnik joined educational and creative workshops where they learned about protecting the sea through hands-on experiences. Together with fisherman and Krie x Provir co-founder Božidar Blaslov, they explored traditional fishing net repair techniques, painted T-shirts made from ECONYL® regenerated nylon, and witnessed divers demonstrating the removal of abandoned fishing nets from the sea.

Through inspiring conversations, educational workshops, art, design, and real environmental action, Future Adriatic Experience showed how sustainability becomes powerful when people choose to take part.

Because real change begins when communities come together around a shared purpose.

KRIE X PROVIR – Future Adriatic Experience

More than an event. A movement.

On board the historic Karaka ship, children from Centar Maslina Dubrovnik joined educational workshops about protecting the Adriatic through creativity, learning, and real action.

From repairing fishing nets and painting T-shirts made from ECONYL® regenerated nylon to witnessing the removal of abandoned fishing nets from the sea, they experienced how sustainability becomes meaningful when people take part.

Part of the growing Krie x Provir movement, which has already helped remove more than 120 tons of discarded fishing nets from the Adriatic Sea and coastline.

Because real change starts with education, community, and action.

At the TSW Festival in Zadar, we spoke about fashion not only as an industry — but as a tool for changing the way we see the sea, space, tourism, and responsibility.

Together with Božidar Blaslov .kali , underwater archaeologist Mladen Pešić, and Iva Bencun, Director of the Zadar Tourist Board we opened a conversation about how discarded fishing nets from the Adriatic can become part of a completely new narrative through fashion and storytelling.

The KRIE x PROVIR story began in Zadar, which makes returning here always especially meaningful.

In less than two years, more than 100 tons of abandoned fishing nets were removed and sent for regeneration — proving that environmental protection can become a shared social value.

The collection photography was created throughout the historic heart of Zadar , connecting the Adriatic, heritage, and contemporary fashion through one Mediterranean story.
