When you hear the word SECESSION probably your first thought will be Gustav Klimt-The Kiss or Antoni Gaudi-Sagrada Famila, you imagine the spirit of the Belle Epoque. When you think about fashion in secession you see luxorious decoration and materials like embroidered or printed velvet in low-key colours, see knobby sleeves, wide ribbon belts, silk lace collars and a lot of floral prints .
Secessionists seek to break away from the historical past and following the modern lifestyle, create expressive forms . They ‘ve had enough of renewed versions of historic styles, of neobaroque ,memorial sculpture, schematic puppet moving theatricality and of satisfying the official needs of representative academicism. They needed a bigger change.
While I was reading fashion history as an inspiration to my collection I tought that it’s booring to recreate a dress just changing the length or using the same prints on a modernistic clothing piece.I wanted something extreme and shocking so I thought that I will not just use the fashion as an inspiration but the secessionists comprehension,So I tried to think as a seccessionist.I didn’t wanted to use ordinary materials .I tried out paper, cardboard, transparent foil ,tape.than I ended up using most of these unusual materials,I made plant prints on the paper and cardboard ,I covered the models with transparent foil and black tape.
The hair and makeup complete the outfits and fit my concept perfectly.
