Jamet is an abbreviation of JAwa METal, and it’s slang, so it is not the official Indonesian language. Jawa means Java, the most populated island in Indonesia, if not the world, and in this case, we’re talking about Javanese people, most specifically central and east Java. Metal in here means heavy metal music. Jamet is to describe a person who loves the combination of Javanese music with a heavy metal style. Later after the dawn of TIK TOK apps, they become famous but tacky, as it just doesn't fit at all.
