The cheongsam is a typical, traditional, and feminine body-hugging dress with distinctive Chinese features of Manchu origin. It was also known as qípáo (旗袍), and was the Republic of China's mandarin gown. It was popularised by Chinese socialites and upper-class women in the 1920s and 1930s in Shanghai. 🔵🔵🔵

Traditionally, it was considered impolite to wear black for a wedding… But certainly it is better than wearing white. However, a good black dress has proven itself enough of a staple in modern times that we can ignore this past antiquated thought.

And universally, it’s an acknowledged truth that a beautiful black dress is magically flattering, just like this cape and beaded black long dress from J E F F that falls elegantly on the body without being too overpoweringly dark.
