Tahukah Kalian ?!?

Bahwasanya dulu, pria bernama Julius Sterling Morton pindah ke desa kecil bersama keluarganya. Ketika masuk ke wilayah tersebut, terlihat tidak ada pohon yang menutupi lahan-lahan di sana. Sebagai pecinta pohon, Julius merasa pohon sangat bermanfaat bagi ekosistem dan kehidupan manusia.

Ia pun ingin mengajak warga untuk menanam pohon dan melestarikan lingkungan. Pada tahun 1872, Julius berhasil mengajak penduduk Nebraska untuk menanam ribuan pohon hingga mengubah wilayah tersebut menjadi lingkungan yang lebih hijau.

Julius mengusulkan untuk menentukan hari menanam pohon. Terpilihlah 21 November sebagai hari tersebut yang dikenal sebagai Hari Pohon Sedunia atau World Tree Day.
