I remember when I first stepped foot on Phi Phi in Thailand, it was just a few years after the Tsunami on 2004. It was still being rebuilt and was a million miles away from the tourist swamped place it is now. It was still mainly backpackers, those on long term pilgrimage around the world. I’ve to reminisce about those places and I purposely don’t go back as I don’t want to spoil those memories

I remember travelling through Laos on a wooden slow boat down the Mekhong. Watching the sun going down with a b**r Laos, knowing the next day is another 12 hrs floating down the river. And you know what, it was one of the best time of my life. Unhurried, happy, unstressed.
Slow travel is ideal but not always possible due to the demands of life. But when you do slow down, you notice the place more.
