I stopped posting because somewhere along the way, I stopped meaning it.
Not because I stopped caring about DXPEMNDS.. Probably the opposite.. This page was never built from a clever content strategy. It grew because we talked about things we were actually living through, and people read it and thought, f**k, that’s exactly how it feels.
Then social media changed. Everyone became a relationship expert. Every ex was a narcissist. Every difficult relationship was a trauma bond. Every feeling needed a label, a diagnosis and a 7 slide explanation.
Some of that language is genuinely useful, but f**k, it got exhausting..
Real people don’t experience relationships like diagnostic flowcharts.. Sometimes someone’s just being a di****ad. Sometimes you love somebody who isn’t right for you. Sometimes s*x keeps two people together longer than it should. Sometimes you f**ked it up. Sometimes you were the toxic one. Sometimes nobody was toxic. Sometimes two good people just couldn’t make it work.
That’s the s**t I always wanted this page to talk about.
But with algorithms, AI and thousands of mindset pages pumping out endless content, I started feeling like I had to keep up. Post more. Say more. Turn every thought into something.
Eventually I was creating because I thought I should, rather than because I actually had something worth saying.
So I stopped.
It cost the page. We lost people, engagement dropped and a community that took years to build went quiet.
But stepping away reminded me what made DXPEMNDS different in the first place.
Not relationship education. Not pretending to have every answer. Just honest observations about what it actually feels like to love, f**k up, grow up, lose people, build relationships and figure life out.
Sometimes there won’t be a villain. Sometimes we’ll disagree. Sometimes the person who needs to take some f**king accountability will be us.
Dope Minds Think Alike was always more “you thought this too?” than “here’s what you should do”..
The internet has unlimited content now.
It doesn’t have unlimited perspective.
Less content. More truth. 🔑🖤💭
