Summer read? Possibly the biggest book I've seen! 1950 edition of Debrett's Peerage, Baronetage, Knightage and Companionage. Fascinating social history and worth it for the multitude of beautiful mid-century adverts alone.

It is wonderful to be back! Open, open, open ... and some new arrivals, of course ☺️

The framed silk scarf is by Carleton Varney, one-time decorator at the White House 🫣 Known as 'Mr. Color', he was a renowned stylist and worked for many Holywood top-brass. In latter years he found himself at the stunning Shannongrove House in Limerick which is how I came to know his work
