Hi everyone! The crochet classes have officially finished, and I can’t even begin to express how proud I am of this group of women. Thank you all so, so much for joining me. When we started, most didn’t know how to hold a hook, and now—just look at these amazing creations!
The classes are on a break until September, but I will be taking enrollments for that class in August! Plus, I’m running a special one-day workshop at the end of July—one Sunday afternoon. If you’d like to join, just send me a message! I’ll be back soon!

Summer is definitely in full swing here at Mybigfathat. 🌞

I’ve been busy making lots of beautiful handmade crochet mesh tops, perfect for throwing on over a cami, over swimwear, or just adding a little bit of a hippie vibe to a summer outfit. 💛

I was at the fantastic last night and honestly, what a great atmosphere. The town was buzzing with people and music, and it reminded me yet again just how many incredibly talented musicians we have here in Carlow. 🎶✨

I’ll be heading back in again today to soak up a bit more of it. If you’re around, it’s well worth a visit.

Good evening guys 🤗
Well it’s market day again tomorrow and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve been busy this week working away on some lovely new makes, including a really gorgeous mesh top that’s just perfect as a summer cover-up. 🌞

We’ll also have the Carlow Beekeepers with us tomorrow which always makes for a great market day. 🐝🍯 There’s always such a lovely buzz around the place… pardon the pun 😂

I’ll have lots of colourful cottons, cardies, ponchos and a few new surprises with me too, so if you’re around pop in and say hello.

Summer has definitely arrived at Mybigfathat 🌞
The colourful cottons are finally making their way out, now we’re just waiting on the sunshine to properly show up 😄

I’ve got some really lovely shrugs, cardies and ponchos ready to go at the moment, all handmade by me and all proper once off pieces. I never remake the same one twice, so you’re not going to spot your cardie or poncho on anyone else 😊

Happy Friday everyone 🤗❤️

I’ll be back at tomorrow from 9am - 2pm with lots of new handmade pieces with me.

I’m especially loving the new green 100% cotton mesh poncho with bead detail 💚 and I’ll also have a couple of super cute raffia sun hats with funky cotton flowers, some lovely cotton mesh cardies, and plenty more bits and pieces. 😀

Hey guys 🤗

I’ve had lots of new followers lately so I thought I’d better introduce myself again.

I’m Mal,(Annamadonna)the face behind Mybigfathat 🧶
I live in Carlow, Ireland 🇮🇪 I’ve been crocheting for let's just say many years now.😁 It started as something I loved doing to relax and switch off, and over time it became such a huge part of my life. About six years ago I decided to take the leap and turn it into my full-time job ✨

Now I spend my days creating colourful crochet makes for you guys, teaching classes, and meeting so many lovely people along the way.🥰

At the moment I’m running both Beginners and Improvers classes on the Athy Road, a beautiful space to host my classes. I’m also every Saturday morning 9am - 2 pm another fantastic space. 🌈

I’m hoping to organise a relaxed summer crochet workshop too — something fun, creative, and easy-going for an afternoon ☀️
