We were delighted to welcome Valentina Gambardella Design as a member of our committee during our AGM back in January. The warmest of welcomes to Valentina, who has been actively involved with ISPD's representation of Ireland at PQ 2023.
Originally from Sicily (Italy), she has been working in Ireland as costume designer and costume maker for theatre and performance for almost a decade.
She holds an MA with honours in Visual Arts and Media Studies from Palermo University and, following a sponsorship, she moved to Galway to work in an Art Gallery.
Eventually, she embraced her passion for fashion and textiles, studied pattern making at Central Saint Martins, textiles at Crawford college and fashion design at MCDT.
She has widely worked in the Arts as a designer for theatre and performance.
Some of the companies she has worked with are Corcadorca Theatre Company, Gare St Lazare Ireland, Cork Opera House, and The Everyman.
