The skill of using a needle and thread to create garments is something I have loved all my life. I have been sewing since I was a child and have experience of all types of fabrics and trained in industry from expert drapers and seamstresses. I am never happier than when I am creating something beautiful from fabric, whether that is bespoke christening gowns available to ship worldwide from my on

line store or bridal alterations to a beautiful gown for a brides special day. Donegal about 2 minutes away from the renowned Mc Elhinneys store, I worked there in their bridal alterations department during my journey to set up StitichIt Bernie and become self employed. During lock down when my hands were idle I started creating beautiful handmade bespoke Christening gowns, A family heirloom for future generations . Which will hold memories of life through the ages. One of my most popular services is the redesign of wedding or communion dress into a unique christening gown. This can be a very personal, and emotional experience, I have been privileged to be part of this beautiful ongoing story . The process includes discussion on the vision for the garment and with every stitch a new story is been written. Connecting to another time, linking the fabric to new memories in unique garment and carrying on this special family tradition is something I am very honoured to be part of.
