New Snow Queen Prints and Black Silk masks now on sale online! Only a few available! www.jenniferrothwell.com đź‘‘ The Snow Quuen tells the story of good triumphing over evil.

The collection is inspired by illustrations in the National Gallery of Ireland’s collection produced by the Dublin-born stained glass artist and book illustrator Harry Clarke for Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales.

The Snow Queen 👑 blowing in the Wind! Test print colours. So grateful and proud that I am able to print and manufacture in Ireland!🇨🇮 The Snow Queen tells the story of good triumphing over evil.

The evil queen promises to free Kai if he can spell "eternity" with the pieces of ice in her palace. His childhood friend Gerda who is pure of heart comes looking for Kai and rescuing him from the evil Snow queen. But when she found him at the queen’s castle Kai sits very quite and still, and is benumbed and cold. Then little Gerda shed burning tears; and they fell on his bosom, they penetrated to his heart, they thawed the lumps of ice, and consumed the splinters of the looking-glass; he looked at her, and she sang the hymn:"The rose in the valley is blooming so sweet, And angels descend there the children to greet."Hereupon Kai burst into tears; he wept so much that the splinter rolled out of his eye, and he recognised her, and shouted, "Gerda, sweet little Gerda! Where have you been so long? And where have I been?" He looked round him. "How cold it is here!" said he. "How empty and cold!" And he held fast by Gerda, who laughed and wept for joy. It was so beautiful, that even the blocks of ice danced about for joy!
When they were tired and laid themselves down, they formed exactly the letters which the Snow Queen had told him to find out; so now he was his own master.The roses on the leads hung blooming in at the open window; there stood the little children's chairs, and Kai and Gerda sat down on them, holding each other by the hand; they both had forgotten the cold empty splendor of the Snow Queen, as though it had been a dream.

Sneak preview! The Snow Queen is the 3rd print in my new Fairytale Collection! Inspired by the amazing Harry Clarke's illustrations for Hans Christian Andersen Fairytales Collection published in 1916.The Snow Queen tells the story of good triumphing over evil. It tells the tale of the queen of the snowflakes or "snow bees", who travels throughout the world with the snow. She captures a boy called Kai and takes him back to her palace after he has fallen victim to the splinters of an evil troll-mirror. The evil queen promises to free Kai if he can spell "eternity" with the pieces of ice in her palace but he is frozen and can not move. Luckily for Kai his childhood friend Gerda who is pure of heart comes looking for Kai and rescues him from the spells of the evil Snow queen and they escape and return home ❤
