It was a wild week - starting out by clearing out Ballymount including sanding off a decorative plaster, and ending up wearing at the .magazine Style Awards!
Mostly my work week is design and buying and operational meetings, customer appointments (my fave❤️) and the occasional hauling, merchandising or loading - but this was extreme for both sides. Loading vans at 6am with the remains of a building job in South William Street, plastering and washing floors in Ballymount for days(our handyman was double booked on a job) and then getting my yearly skin facial (every year I swear I’ll go more regularly) and professional makeup (ditto) for the VIPs! 😆
It was such a great night, it can be overwhelming seeing all the beautiful people in all the beautiful looks, but to be surrounded by people having fun and feeling good is a joy no matter where it is, and the VIP team are the soundest, hardest working people ☺️
Delighted to have attended, delighted to have the walls plastered- feeling lucky to have lived another wild and wonderful week 🥰

One thing we think you could tell your bridal crew (apart from you’re the loves of my life and stunning?😍 ) is simple : “please represent me well with my wedding team” ❤️
We know family and friendships are not straightforward, we know this won’t work with everyone - but the hope is if it’s addressed as a Bridal Team Motto from the start, you have a better chance to feel heard and represented well ❤️
What does it mean- “Please represent me well❤️”? - With all your interactions and appointments with vendors etc, if you yourself are courteous, kind and chilled - ask your bridesmaids and immediate family if they can also represent you in that way with any interactions THEY have with your vendors. Whether it’s pleasantries in an appointment, not trying to get an extra from your MUA, sorting out issues on your behalf with a solution based approach instead of focusing on blame etc….this approach I promise you will help create a gorgeous environment for your day. 🥰❤️

Mother’s Day always brings up a lot of feelings.

For some, the relationship with our mother is exactly what we worked towards and hoped for. For others, it can be more complicated than we imagined. Sometimes the relationship changes and evolves over time.

There can be moments where we need to find grace for each other and simply meet each other where we are. There can also be powerful, beautiful moments of recognising that mother or mother figure who always tries to show up. Flawed and wonderful. A woman doing her best, just like the rest of us.

My own mam, Kay, has always been a huge inspiration to me, even when I didn’t realise it. In many ways we are very different, and during my teenage years I was exactly what you would expect: rebellious and absolutely certain I knew everything.

Through it all, she tried to hold space, grace and love. She educated and inspired me, lifting me up…and putting me back in my box when it was needed.😆

My kids now do perfect impressions of her loving sing-song voice, and I hope that when I reach her stage of life I will be just as free with my love for the world.

Whoever your person is - your mam, a grandmother, an aunt, a stepmum or another mother figure - we hope you can bring her with you on your journey through life’s big moments with us here at Folkster.
