Three cheers for wonderful women everywhere.
May we know them.
May we be them.
May we raise them.
May we show kindness to them.
May we know kindness from them.
May we be tolerant and understanding of those less fortunate than us.
May be rejoice in our triumphs and provide strength for each other during our troubles.
May we cherish our freedom to be educated, to vote, to love openly whoever we wish to love, to be who we are, to work, to drive, to strive, to succeed, to be financially independent and to dress whatever way we want(especially if it’s from Fussy Galore Vintage 😏).
May we ponder for a moment and be grateful as Irish women for the era, the decade and the country we were born into. Millions of women worldwide have not come as far as we have.
May we be thankful for the women who came before us and fought for the rights we have today.
May we continue to fight for women’s equality.

A very happy St Valentine’s Day to one and all. May you know love, be loved, show love and feel love. Not just today but every day. Love thy self. Love thy lover. Love thy family. Love thy friends. Love thy neighbour and your little dog too.
There are people who will never sit around our table again, spare a moment to love the life they had and all the joy they brought into the world on their journey.
Know too that you are loved on your journey.

We are flooded on social media with cheap throw away fashion. The charity shops are now flooded with them. When you buy clothes, choose quality long life garments that can be passed on or better still, buy vintage and second hand. If you haven’t yet embraced second hand shopping, take a day out and visit the markets that champion sustainability. This month I’ll be at Fluxstudiosdublin with Unique Markets Dublin then taking a road trip with Sew what its vintage and So Pretty So Chic - Evelyn NYR to Farmers Market at Mountain View Kilkenny and finally at the The Digital Hub, Dublin with We Love Markets
Expect high quality tweeds, woolens, silks, formal and day wear as well as some great vintage and preloved accessories. At each market there are a huge selection of traders who carry different styles so there’s something for everyone and here’s the fun, no two items are the same so find your unique you as you go.

The race against waste is a struggle. The horrific onslaught of imported fast fashion is a huge contribution. Choose sustainable fashion if you can. Charity shops are a good start but do check out Ireland’s vast array of vintage sellers. We stock clothing that can date back several decades. I currently have amazing pieces in stock as far back as the forties. Admittedly the older the garment, the chances are the smaller they are. Good news for the sizes 6-10 out there. For me at a size 16, I get lucky with items from the 60s onwards. Clothing that was made decades ago has stood the test of time. They’ve been worn, washed, stored and in most cases are in exceptional vintage condition. We vintage sellers are self taught in the methods of restoring/salvaging/up cycling pieces that have seen better days, saving them from landfill and seeing them go on to live another life. It is a labour of love.

What is WRONG with women??? Tell a man he looks well and he'll smile and take the compliment and so he should. Women, on the other hand... Tell a woman she looks well and nine out of ten women will point out their big tum, bum, fat ankles, skinny ankles, double chin, no chin, wobbly arms, skinny arms, too short, too tall, too white, too old, too wrinkled, too grey... They point out lumps and flaws on their bodies that you don't see until they do and then you can't unsee it. The list is endless. I'm known to be intolerant of this in my shop. If I give you a compliment, I mean it. Anyone who knows me knows I can't do false ones. The most boring conversations in the world are the ones where women run themselves down in a cloud of negativity, so not only does the compliment seem redundant, the air of negativity you leave behind taints the memory of you. So ladies, get your positivity knickers on and go take the day by storm. The next person who compliments you, take a breath, wash away all negative thoughts of yourself and say thank you. Life is short. We're all going to get older and the body and face will show it. Look in your mirror today and greet yourself with a "Hello gorgeous! "😊😊😊

So I’ve been on a market break but now it’s time to get the band back together, so I’m joining the band of some of the best vintage and designer traders this Sunday at with , just over the road from the Guinness Storehouse. . I’m busy today prepping sone gorgeous new stock, wool coats, leathers, hats and a fab collection of knitwear for your consideration. I only have one of everything so pop by, say hi and have a browse.
