[email protected] We are here to help you help Kenya, it's people, animals and environment. To be more precise they are made in Kitege village, underneath Kasigau mountain, on the boundary of Tsavo west national park, 120 miles away from Kilimanjaro. Th

is is a very dry and dusty place. We have approximately 2 inches of rain in 1 year. There are 5 villages around Kasigau mountain, Kitege is 1 of them. There are 800 people living in Kitege, 400 goats, 30 cows and a few troops of monkeys! There are 2 lady tailors who live in Kitege by the names of Clara and Ruth, they have made this possible. Your shirt is made without electricity, without running water and we ironed it with a charcoal iron. Sorry if there is a bit of Kitege dust in it ;)

When you buy a shirt, lots of things happen. Firstly it brightens our day in Africa. Secondly it brightens your day. Thirdly we buy 1 pounds worth of trees from our local school children and plant them into bags in our nursery, this is usually about 50 small seedlings. We employ somebody to make sure hungry Kitege goats don't eat them! When they are big enough these trees will be planted around Kasigau Mountain to help restore the precious forest that has taken a battering in the last few years... That's the first phase... More to come! We believe in simplicity and consistency...sustainability and all those words! We are using simple facilities, no electricity, we collect water in buckets, we have a charcoal iron (using sustainable charcoal of course!)

Very excited to share the beautiful space of Bรญ Urban in Stoneybatter with two wonderful & ethical brands Village Workshops Kenya & Grown Clothing on 8th September for a Pop-Up Shop / Sale.
It's time for me to clear some space and make room for new designs. There will be heaps of cosy knits ~ jumpers, dresses, tops, accessories, blankets. Some sample garments, some last season stock, some new pieces. There will be whopper discounts from 20% to 50%! Village Workshops Kenya works with over 600 basket weavers around Kenya to help create employment. Each basket is their own creation and let me warn you, its very difficult to choose. There will be some old stock on sale and new stock to liven up your home.
Grown Clothing design beautiful tees and hoodies that have a positive impact on the planet. Organic cotton with subtle prints of nature and the sea. These guys are so good that they will also plant a tree for every tee sold. And they are the ones out doing the digging!
Kaethe that runs Bรญ Urban & Desireland will be our wonderful host. The shop is full of sustainable products for the home and daily life aswell as all good things for bees and their honey production. Kaethe will serve tea sweetened with the extensive range of raw honey from around Dublin.
