Katie’s Daddy is lucky enough to be friends with the very talented lady behind Coco Bella Handmade Bows, we received these beautiful gifts just in time for Christmas, we loved all the bows and clips but we especially loved the “my first Christmas” one! The pink and sliver glitter bow will be used for all her parties and we can’t wait for our hair to grow a little longer so we can use the clips too! The bands on the bows are so soft and stretchy there’s no worries of it being too tight round her head so can be worn for longer (unless bubba decides to try and pull them off like Katie does 🙈) I can’t find the company on Instagram but if you are on Facebook search for Coco Bella Handmade and you will see all her beautiful stock!

•Charity Shoutout•

I had heard of the Kicks Count charity before becoming pregnant but once we had Katie on board it became my biggest asset. Knowledge is power and with the information I learned from Kicks Count I had the courage to stand up for me and my baby girl. When I was around 38 weeks pregnant, baby’s movements started to decrease, a few people I spoke to said “oh baby is getting big and probably doesn’t have any more room to move, baby is fine.” Thankfully myself and my hubby knew the importance of getting decreased movements checked out, everything was fine however we had a few more incidents of decreased movements and that paired with baby not putting any weight, the health professionals decided to induce me at 40 weeks. Thanks to the Kicks Count charity and the health professionals at the local hospital my baby girl was born just fine on her due date. If you are any doubt over baby’s movements do not delay in getting checked out! They have an app which you can download and every time you feel baby kick you can record it easily here and use it for reference later. For all the up to date advice check out Kicks Count on insta or their website. They also sell different bits and bobs so check these out as the proceeds of their sales go back into the charity to help them continue their amazing work! .count

We love Grobags in our house. Katie is a wriggler at night, some nights I swear she is running a marathon in her sleep! Popping her into a Grobag means she is warm throughout the night but more importantly she is SAFE. Using a grobag means that as Katie wriggles during the night she can’t pull at the covers or put them over her head which could lead to catastrophic consequences. This way everyone gets a worry free nights sleep. They are super easy to use, I love that they are colourful and Katie now has formed an association with these and bedtime which is a winner for Mummy and Daddy! For more info on safe sleep guidelines visit and on insta or their website!

As much as I love breastfeeding I wanted to make sure Katie would take a bottle as well to allow me some much needed time out. We found these glass bottles by pure chance on and we LOVE them. They come in a pack of 3, 1 small and 2 large. As Katie is bigger now we tend to use the large ones more often than the small but it is still handy to have on standby! To store breastmilk I use the storage bags, these can be refrigerated for 6 days or popped in the freezer for up to 6 months. We introduced a bottle of formula to Katie early on to get her used to having both in case anything happened and I wasn’t about to breastfeed when she needed fed, she generally gets one bottle of formula a week to keep up the familiarity. We used from the get go with Katie and she has taken to it no bother so we will be sticking with them as we start our weaning journey shortly! 💕

I always knew I wanted to breastfeed if I could but I honestly don’t know if I would have survived the journey this far if it wasn’t for these amazing products. These were my essentials in the newborn cluster feeding days, when Katie fed for hours so my nips felt like they were going to fall off and then the engorgement when my milk came in making me look like I had a b**b job overnight (looked amazing, felt horrific). I am so glad I stuck with it as I love our b**b feeds now as I get a good snuggle with my bubba! • With bubba cluster feeding ALOT the 32fl oz insulated cup was a lifesaver for me to keep me hydrated without having to refill every 10mins. •I used the and suction pumps to relieve the engorgment and build up a supply of expressed milk. These are amazing and I still use these everyday!
• I used the therapearl heat packs to help with engorgement and to relieve the pain of blocked ducts- pair these with a and you have the perfect combo to relieve almost all the pain!
• Multi-Mam are the single most effective thing I have used in my breastfeeding journey to date. They have literally saved me from giving up at times when my ni***es were cracked and raw from the cluster feeds. They are like a medicated plaster that you put over the ni**le to help it heal. I keep mine in the fridge for that extra bit of cold relief when I am really sore or raw. •Breast Pads! I did not realise how picky I would be about these bad boys! For disposable ones, i love the as they are big but not bulky and come individually wrapped which is very handy when throwing a couple in to your change bag. For reusable ones, I love bamboo pads, they are soft and absorbent and again are nice and discreet.
• Throughout my pregnancy I took daily so it was a no brainer for me to move on to their breastfeeding vitamins once bubba was here.
