Cleo Ltd Family run Irish knitwear and design shop based in Dublin supporting Irish knitters and makers since Nowadays, Cleo is a thriving and very colourful business.

Cleo originally began in 1936 as a very small retail outlet in Dublin, selling only hadnknit sweaters from the Aran Islands. We are located on Kildare Street in Dublin City around the corner from The Shelbourne Hotel. We specialise in Irish clothing made from natural fibres. We sell handknit sweaters in a variety of styles and colour for men, women and children as well as coats, capes, linen blous

es and shirts, hats, bags, socks, tweed mice and a whole lot more. Many people have termed a lot of our clothing “Wearable Art” as we have some incredible clothing made by artisans and craftspeople living in Ireland. Established by the late Kay Ryan, her daughter Kitty and grand daughters Helen and Sarah, it’s been a fun-filled journey from that day to this. We welcome you to climb aboard and have some fun too. A Special Shout out to An Post for their gorgeous Aran Sweater stamp collection.

The Post service in Ireland has been vital to our business over decades.
We have always been able to offer our customers a transport option for their shopping with us , which despite occasional delays has been pretty much 100% successful deliveries over many many years .

Also of course the dance of parcels out to knitters filled with yarn and returning transformed into gorgeous knitwear.

We are ever reliant on this superb service and the countless number of parcels and packages we have sent out at home and worldwide.

Every now and again we have wonderful encounters with what we can definitely describe as heritage pieces.

This lovely lady popped in wearing a handknit Cleo coat sweater her grandmother had purchased decades ago and she had the good fortune to inherit.

Its in superb condition, a testimony to the quality of the piece but naturally it has also been loved and cared for all those years.
The Cleo label was re sewn in it and off they went on their merry way for decades more joy.
