I'm starting a new project that I am VERY excited about! Long explanation upcoming, so buckle in, buttercups!

So, babies in general, and preemie babies in particular, struggle when they're in the hospital because they're so used to holding on to the umbilical cord. They're in this new world with no umbilical cord, and when they're hooked up to tubes, they try to hold on to those tubes because it reminds them of the umbilical cord that they used to hold on to for comfort. This causes problems because sometimes they manage to pull those tubes out.

Nurses have learned that if they put octopi into the incubators with the babies, the babies will hold on to the tentacles instead of the tubes. This helps calm the babies down, and it prevents them from accidentally pulling tubes out.

Because of this, a lot of hospitals are looking for donations of soft toy octopi.

This is where we come in! I started making Reversible Octopi a couple weeks ago that have Happy Faces and Sad Faces. For any Reversible Octopus that is bought, I will donate a cotton Non-Reversible Octopus (which I call Baby Octopi, since they're cotton for the babies) to a nearby hospital.

Working on a Gryffindor set and a Hufflepuff set! The Hufflepuff needs to be ready by April 8th (not a problem!) and the Gryffindor just needs a hat and it's done.

Just received an order for a full Gryffindor set! This is the first time that a full set has actually been ordered and I'm excited about it!

Saturday at Geek-Mart was fantastic! I always love meeting new people, and I wound up selling out of scarves AGAIN! I'll need to make sure to have more Slytherin scarves available next month!

I'm also selling the pink hats with kitty ears, and that seemed to be a hit. So if you want the pink kitty ears, talk to me about it! I got you!

Saturday was a lot of fun! I'm now officially sold out of scarves and fingerless gloves. So I'm hitting the knitting hard!

I have crocheted roses now, that you can pin to things.

I'm currently working on a Batman scarf, with the Bat Signal on it. I hope to have a couple of them ready for the next Geek Mart.
