And now I am finally ready to embrace the changes I want in the garden. At my side I have my trusted sidekick with his spade to give me a hand. I have no idea who is who or who is boys or girls.
The daddy is one of my Swedish flower rooster and mom is either a Swedish flower hen or one of my many silkie crosses.

They are tiny and super fluffballs. Seems happy out in their box this evening.

Me: if I only had an open ended zip I would fix my jacket I broke a few years ago and still use with the zip broken.

Also me: maybe the open ended zip isn't the issue to fix the jacket.... these are all open ended zips in various colours, sizes and materials. Surely one of them would fit if I tried.

Saturday gardening can be such hard work.

The last 2 black currants are moved and in their final home.

Lunch cooked and served in the polytunnel.

Left over kladdekaka for dessert.

And now a cup of tea while I plan the planting and new raised bed in the polytunnel before I start digging the 2.5m x2.5m x 3m tall fig tree. Wish me luck with that one....

How many tomatoes does one need? First sowing done. If they all come up that will be 62 plants. Something tells me ill do a second sowing at some stage. Just in case.

The rest of the plants are coming up lovely. Cucumbers, watermelon, cucamelon, pepper, cantaloupe melon, borage, spicy salad, courgettes and asparagus grown from seeds to expand my asparagus patch.

My hens are finally laying again and this morning we put some eggs in the incubator again. 21 days from now there will hopefully be some fluffballs in there instead.

This will be our 3rd lot in the incubator and as nice as it is it isn't for beginner poultry keepers. Little chicks are delicate. And unless you have a plan for what to do with the hens and cockrels when they become adults at 4 and 6 months don't do it. Cockerels are loud! We don't have close neighbours and my neighbours on my road have cockrels already.

Do I need more seeds? NO!

Does planting seeds and planning for spring keep me somewhat sane? YES

Ordered on Sunday evening, arrived today and some of them are already planted. Love small business ans Klaus seeds are the best. Germination is very high and the kaibroc was a huge hit last year. Bunches and bunches of spears every few days and still some in the freezer.
