This Monday 26th August is and to celebrate, our 12.40 and 3.20 tours on Monday will be co-led by storytellers Squire and Emily Collins! Canine storyteller Squire, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and his human companion Emily will take you through the museum where you can learn of the importance of dogs in Ireland's mythic past. Tickets for these special 12.40 and 3.20 tours on Monday are only available at the museum box office, and when they're gone, they're gone!

P.S. Squire loves the spotlight and insists on being the only dog on his tours on Monday - apart from working assistance dogs, who are always welcome in the Leprechaun Museum.

During the National Ploughing Championships, please keep in mind the retail businesses along the route in Mountmellick.
The outlets you rely upon, for the other 362 days of the year, are severely compromised during these 3 days. Traffic restrictions dictate whether loyal customers can park & shop. Turnover for the last 7 years was reduced by 50% to 70% amongst ourselves & our colleagues. This is not good enough.
300k visitors are expected to visit the championships. Great for Anna May & her coffers but she’ll be out of the vicinity by Friday.
On the plus side, our local Garda Sargeant is the first to ever even empathise & ask how we feel. That’s a first & is most welcome. More of the same amongst the traffic core on duty would be nice.
So, basically, don’t forget us & all the other businesses adversely affected, over this Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. “The Ploughing” comes & goes but we want to be around for the long game.
