Aquila is now closed. i spent a very sad afternoon starting to pack up the shop. Cheered up at the end though, with a visit from my favourite person - Olivia!
there were tears and laughter over shared memories during our time together. you would think we were breaking up from the roller coaster of emotions we’re on. exhausting! joking aside Olivia has become my friend, my confidant, the person i depend on. she has treated the shop as her own and in the process it became a little community of its own. the girls all had their regular customers and new customers were always made feel welcome. there were no airs and graces, even the people who came in while they were waiting for the bus were welcomed 🤗 bahahaha🙄. thank you to all the girls (who i will come to at at later date) but today is Olivia’s day. she’s a rock star and i will be lost without her…so hopefully we will only a little bit less of each other..all hail Queen Olivia!! i i would now like to urge you to shop local. you might think it doesn’t make a difference but every euro counts. Aquila is not the first shop to close in skerries but it won’t be the last. we value all our customers; some spent lots and some very little. but they always supported us and made us feel valued. please don’t underestimate the importance of keeping it local because we can’t survive without you. it might just be a card you buy or a candle,but it means a sale, even little sales add up and help pay them bills. lecture over. cleaning up continues tomorrow x
