💬 Let’s talk money:

💰Cheap fashion has completely warped people's perspective on what clothing is worth. There are just as many hands involved in the manufacturing of “cheap” fashion as there are in ethically-made fashion. But if you've ever thought “why is ethical fashion so expensive?” there are many reasons, the least of which being the fair treatment of workers in the supply chain. Also, we think the more relevant question is, "how is that so cheap?" We all love a bargain but it's time to stop kidding ourselves about a dress that sells for €20 or €40 or even €60 new. That's not a bargain, that's exploitation! In these cases, it’s guaranteed that other people are paying the price so we don't have to.

🌍🔎 At AFORE AFTER we strongly believe that if fashion brands were required to be transparent about their costs, people would awaken to the true cost of making clothes, and we’d see clothing being properly valued again, like it was by previous generations. And while the industry has no such requirement, yet again we've taken it upon ourselves to be transparent and allow you to see our cost breakdown.

It’s one of our favourite times of year. It’s so lovely to head out for walks and watch the leaves turn gold and fall to the floor.

🍁 Inspired by the leaves of the hazel tree, our ruby “Hazel Hurry” print is all about wild, statement-making beauty. The hazel tree is native to Ireland, AFORE AFTER’s home country, and in Celtic folklore, is associated with wisdom and inspiration, making it the perfect match for the conscious style-lover.

❤️💓 We like to think our bold colour palette of ruby red and candy pink adds drama to the natural beauty of the hazel leaves. Introducing black to the colour palette was fully intentional, it makes the print simple to style with wardrobe essentials 🖤

Our virtual fitting rooms with MYAVA allow you to try on your ETERNAL piece in both styles, 3 different ways.

How the MYAVA virtual fitting room works:

1. Create your avatar.
Visit MYAVA (link in bio) and click “Create Profile” to get started with inputting your information. MYAVA securely collects details about your dress size, body shape, hair colour and complexion to build your avatar. MYAVA uses USA standard sizes, so please refer to our Size Guide first, where we can assist you with size conversion for creating your profile.

2. Confirm your avatar.
After a couple of days, you’ll be sent an image of your MYAVA avatar to approve. You can double check the avatar measurements against your own body measurements and also provide more to improve accuracy. Your avatar will be revised if additional measurements are submitted and you can update your avatar at any time.

3. Experience the virtual fitting room.
With your approved avatar, you can select up to 5 different fittings at a time. After a couple of days, the MYAVA experts will recommend your best sizes and colours, and offer advice specific to you. Review the MYAVA recommendations and click “Buy” if you’d like to purchase.

At AFORE AFTER, we always restock our returns, but we’d still prefer to avoid their wasteful impact altogether. And so we hope you’ll try our virtual fitting room, and experience its fantastic benefits for yourself.

At AFORE AFTER, we are deeply conscious of the extra waste that comes with online orders.

To combat this, we examined and improved every aspect of our packaging and shipping practices. To start, each ETERNAL comes in its own drawstring bag, which can be used time and time again ❤️

📦 Packaging 📦
When it came to packaging, we couldn’t find a functional and recyclable shipping solution with minimal material use in the market, and so we designed our very own, which we call ‘the bagvelope’. Due to the need for strength and durability during shipping, our recyclable bagvelope is made from 100% paper that is FSC, EU Ecolabel and Cradle to Cradle certified.

Elsewhere, we only use 100% recycled and recyclable paper materials for our branded packaging, which have many certifications such as Blue Angel, FSC Recycled, and EU Ecolabel.

All of our paper branded packaging is ethically made in Poland, and our manufacturer sources from paper suppliers in Germany and Austria.

🚛 Shipping 🚛
At a time when free shipping is all too common and often expected, we know that being charged for your delivery can be off-putting. That's why, when you pay for shipping with us, we discount the cost by subsidising at least a third of the total DHL fee to more than cover the excess charges of carbon-neutral shipping.

While we hope this helps, as a circular fashion business, we consider the popularity of standardised free shipping and return as a dangerous overconsumption incentive. Encouraging impulse buying and helping to take the "guilt" out of buying yet another thing you don't need, it’s not what we consider a sustainable business practice.
At AFORE AFTER, we only offer free shipping when the order total allows us to absorb the full cost.
