Hi Folks,

So many people say to me - 'oh she will be the best dressed baby.' Or 'she'll have all the best knit clothes'!
No pressure like!

Then when I tell them, well I actually haven't managed to make her anything yet and I sold out of baby hats thinking that I'd have time to make a few pieces before the birth

Then my work went passed my planned finish date and this lil one arrived in a bit before my due date, when I was convinced that I would go over by a week or two!!

Then people would say.... 'what's that phrase about the cobblers children had no shoes'! The phrase is - the shoemaker's son always goes barefoot.

So as you can imagine I was very keen to make her something and knew it would have to be handknit for a quiter approach then the machine.

It took from Feb to May to make this lil cardigan. Knit in .ireland yarn - Irish Grown yarn Blueface Leister & Romney sheep. A simple pattern from Jacqui in .

It was an adventure to not only find time but to navigate all this with the little one in a sling. Especially with first having to rewind the skeins into balls. I then made many mistakes! At least I have the excuse of being newborn mother with brain fog, and also not used to deciphering handknit patterns. So like all knitters know, the humbling of this craft in just having to rip it out and go again.

My goodness never mind the counting in the picking up of the stitches for the placket!! I got there in the end. So absolutely delighted to have some beautiful wool to put her in and with the classic LA pops of colour!

I know many folk are scared of wool and washing it in general, never mind for baby clothes. And let's face it babies are messy and she hasn't started with food yet! Still I want to dress her in wool (and other natural materials) and am sad at the lack of baby wool knits. I know there are a few gorgeous pieces being made by a few brands here in Ireland.

I've considered making more tiny knits... is this something that you think you are seeking?
Anyway for now, celebrating this lovely tiny knit on this lovely tiny human, who is just delightful ♡

Hi Folks,

Lá Feile Sheela na Gig daoibh!
Today March 18th is known as Sheela's Day. I'm delighted to be celebrating her today with our lil girl Réiltín Síle. Embracing Sheela na Gig energy has been a big part of me calling this lil one to my life. It's a story that I'm feeling called to share more of, when time allows. Motherhood be busy!

When I was working with and we discovered that I needed to embrace Sheelas energy more, she asked me what her energy was to me, I immediately said - Wild, fierce and full of love ♡

From going to my periods being all over the place, to having two smooth cycles... my last bleed was on International Womens Day last year. Around this weekend last year ... we conceived this lil one, I was running an event that was embracing Sheela na Gig energy and went on a Pilgrimage to visit the Ballinacarriga Castle Sheela on the 18th. So I've alot to honour in this medieval deity. She was also a big presence in the birth of Réiltín, hence her middle name being Síle.

I'm totally on board with on making March 18th a national holiday. Sheela na gig deserves to be honoured. Since doing more womens work over the years, celtic wheel, Menstrual cycle awareness and delving more into birth stories and the maternity systems in Ireland, we need Sheela na Gig energy more than ever.

I feel Sheela represents so many different things to different women, I was to explore it all, hear womens view, keep calling her in and see what magic she can bring to our lives. I know I have been blown away by my connection to her. She lit a spark in me like no other practice ever has. What it means to live a wild, fierce and full of love life.

A shout out to who on International Womens Day called for women to expose ourselves & our gifts. She's right. It's time, like Sheela, no more hiding.

It's our time mná and we know it! Those of you who are already trailblazing it - thank you. Those of you who have something to share - I encourage you. Míle buíochas to all the amazing women in my life.

Hi Folks,

I'm delighted that this fundraiser is happening... a potential mini mill that will scour (clean), carde and spin wool in Ireland is amazing. Katarina of has already been processing wool on a smaller scale to a high standard.

This kind of facility is perfect for small to medium sheep farmers. It's very exciting.

So if you are a fan of woollen things, a supporter of Irish crafts, a champion of small Irish business then please support. Share it far and wide, esp to any folk with lots of cash!!!!

Hi Folks,

Athbhliain faoi mhaise daoibh! ✨️

Happy New Year! ✨️

Delighted to finally share with you that our family of three is now four.  We welcomed in a little girl, Réiltín Síle in the first week of December.  She came in like a shooting star.

She is here now, our precious wee girl. It's been a wild ride, full of joy, awe, wonder,  also lots of doubt and some tears too. All the kinds of tears.

Breastfeeding is no walk in the park, but we are getting there, turning corners every day.  We are mostly cocooning by the fire now after a few weeks mostly in bed. Micheál playing a blinder, with feeding us, walking Tiny and keeping things ticking along. It's no mean feat.

We are so utterly grateful for our community and our Meal Train Faeries. A hot meal cooked by friends and delivered to our door every day for the first 4 weeks. So Micheál doesn't have to think about cooking. It is incredible, community like this is incredible.  I have never appreciated food so much,  hunger like you wouldn't believe and food never tasted so good.  If you don't have a meal train in your group of friends, neighbours and community,  please start one. They also work for people who are ill or in grief and need support,  even if its just a few days.

I won't be sharing much more about our lil girl on here. I want to honour her sovereignty.   I'll also be taking a break from here for another while to be present in motherhood.

Just wanted to share our beautiful news and wish you all love and abundance for 2026.

Hi Folks,

Thank you for all the orders that have been steadily flowing in. The shop will close on Sunday 30th November at Midnight. All remaining orders will be shipping by the 2nd Dec.

Exchanges & Returns
I've realised that the capacity for exchanges & returns in 2026 will be limited. I won't be checking emails for a good few months and there won't be any stock to exchange things for. Of course I apologise in advance for any inconvenience. This is a small pretty much one women show, apart from my wonderful two knitters and a few others that do bits and bobs.

Please take this into consideration when buying this year. Maybe pass the knit on to someone who will enjoy it. Or be patient, keep the knit wrapped nicely and await my return to business. This could be at least 6 months.

I'm going to just go with my energy next year and enjoy the precious early days of motherhood.

I will be signing out of Instagram so please send an email. As insta messages are not easy to keep track of.

There are still some gorgeous knits on the website. Newsletter folks, check your email for a newsletter on Friday evening.

That's it for now.

Hey Folks,

The sun is shining after a week of mist sitting on the land. There was lots of late afternoon walks in the damp misty air. Quite beautiful really, in the stillness, quiet birdsong submerged in the cloud.

The tides were super high too. Tiny was confused as all our usual lil spots were full of water.

Here are the Striped Kerchiefs and our classic hats for this year. I love the freshness of the stripes, perfect to brighten up any winter outfit. The hats are available in Small, Medium and Large in 9 new colours.

I was glad to see the sun out today and had a lovely walk and sit with Jen .nature.wave.

I'm still working on cloud hats and also have a final batch of kerchiefs to wash and finish before posting. So if you're wondering where your order is, it will be out next week.

It's been so lovely packing and getting all your orders out this week. So grateful.

Morning Folks,

These are the Pat Vests. There are a few colour block ones available and a few striped ones left.

Curious to know if ye prefer a skinny or wide stripe? Lots of colours or just two?

These Vests are now online our Pick & Knit colour tool on the website. Click on the ORDERING tab and you'll see the link.

Thank you for all the orders so far. I have alot of orders to process so bare with me as I work my way through them. I'll be getting in some help this week as I'm still sewing Cloud Hats!

Nothing like the last minute push to get things done.

Hi Folks,

Wishing you all a lovely Samhain Sunday.

Here are the Danae Vests. Some of these are already gone but adding them in to spark ideas for when we open the Made For You again next year. On that note, if you have a look at the Pick & Knit colour tool, you'll see that we added more of our designs on there. Incase you want to play around with future ideas for your perfect Vest, Cardigan or Hoodie.

I love this V neck vest, it's so elegant. The wide stripes work for some but would also like to explore other stripes too. I still also love a bit of colour blocking.

What are your ideas for the perfect vest?

Hi Folks,

I had fun this year choosing colours for lots of stripey knits for this AW collection. I tend to work ok the fly alot, choosing things quickly and by what yarn I have, rather than super carefully thought out collections. I guess irreverent colours comes from irreverent work methods!

I also like that this way creates many one off pieces. Which is fun for you aswell.

Here are the Holly Tops. Knit in our soft Merino Lambswool. They are light, yet warm. They work well in winter and summer, especially our Irish summers that often have a cold wind. Styled over jeans, skirts or dresses they are versatile.

I've been wearing my pink and red one for about 8 years now, so they have longevity!

To be honest, there's a few I'd like to hold on to myself! 🤣

Let me know what you think!

Hi Folks,

The Shop is now full of all our knits.

Hats, Cloud Hats, striped Kerchiefs, Striped Holly Tops and Vests. Lots of one off pieces. Take your time to check measurements before buying.

This is all the knitwear we have til next year. I will be closing up shop in a few weeks to go on Maternity Leave. Spread the word to any pals you might know!

Thanks for all your support of my wee knits. It's been a lot to get all this online. We finally have Cloud Hats again. These actually still need to be sewn, washed and labelled. So if you order them postage will be delayed a week or so.

Posting in general will be a bit slower as I work my way through it all. If you need something sooner, send me an email and I'll do my best.

Hope you enjoy the weird and wonderful striped vests and kerchiefs. There are some irreverent colour combinations in there as usual.

Míle Buíochas
