This little cardigan and hairband set came about when my 5 year old Grandson James thought the ideal birthday present for me was wool! I'm told he picked it himself and couldn't be persuaded to change his mind. It arrived in the post from the UK and I was surprised and delighted with something so personal. I started knitting straight away. The yarn is a James Brett DK with little flecks of colour. I added the lavender yarn as a contrast. I'm delighted with how it turned out. Well picked James!!

Only realised this morning how long it is since I posted......so, as we're expecting a heat wave ( according to Met Eireann ), I thought these little ballerina wrap over cardigans would be a nice transition from Winter woollies to something a bit lighter for the long hot Summer ahead. (Fingers crossed )
Cardigans shown are ready to go and will fit age 0-3 or 0-6 depending on the size of the baby.

Doing some cutting back in the garden yesterday and we came across this little bird's nest buried in an ivy hedge.. Truly a work of art, perfectly round and holding 3 beautiful tiny blue speckled eggs. We covered it over as best we could and thankfully the mother blackbird returned and took up residence again. I couldn't believe just how perfect it was. Can't wait to hear the little ones chirruping away. Nature is amazing!!! Pity the photos are a tad blurred!
