Dikla Levsky is a textile designer based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Focusing on print and pattern she graduated from Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, where she was trained as a print major. In her work as a textile designer, she is fascinated by nature - especially by the world of birds, along with an attraction to traditional textiles. She takes a special interest in primitive motives and lay
outs. Her designs always begin as unique hand painted works, which are later translated to different textile print techniques. In her work there is a mix of both traditional and contemporary textile motifs and designs. She uses very traditional methods such as hand drawn sketches and silk screen printing, but also newer technology, in order to create her unique and vibrant visual world. In her work, ethnic influences from different cultures meet new colors and interpretation, to make a new cultural hybrid.
