We were already deep into crafting looks for the groom’s family when this couple walked in — no brief, no reference, just an openness. So we asked the right questions and listened.

What emerged was midnight on a lake — our interpretation of the ancient Pichwai tradition, reimagined in deep midnight blues pooling over powder blue silk. Hand painted. Slow made. Entirely theirs.

A little on Pichwai —
Born centuries ago in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, Pichwai paintings were devotional works — intricate, luminous depictions of Lord Krishna surrounded by lotus ponds, moonlit waters, and blooming nature. The word itself means “that which hangs behind.” Every brushstroke was an act of reverence. We carry that same intention into fabric — taking the motifs off temple walls and onto the body, with our own colour language.

This version speaks in still water and night sky. Powder blue as the lake at dusk. Midnight as the depth beneath it.

Not every love story arrives with a mood board. Sometimes it arrives with just an instinct — and that’s our favourite place to begin.
