• Chris Francis I’m saddened beyond words today.
I thought Dolly would walk the world in heels forever.
Dolly gave so much to the world, so much creativity, art, music and happiness and her shoes were my teachers in so many ways.
Her music will always play here and a bit of Dolly will be in all the heels I ever make.
Dolly was the true queen of high heels, a true inspiration to me.
We lost a legend and a beautiful soul.
Rest in peace Dolly.

Repost • woodstockings It turns out that what Kermit really liked about Dolly is what we all really loved about her: she was so real.

Dolly was always the first to poke fun at herself with the confidence of someone who is quietly comfortable in their own talent; and who knew that what they were giving back to the people around them was meaningful and would last longer than any silly judgements ever would.

Because as much as she was judged, mainly for her looks, Dolly never judged back. She just quietly led by example and showed us that you’re never the sum of other people’s thoughts about you. You’re the shining beacon of light that you know yourself to be. You never have to prove to anyone who you know you already are.

Dolly was always reminding us all that nothing is cooler is than being yourself, and nothing lasts longer than kindness and love.
