The whole of May has been about tuning out and tuning in. It's always a challenge for me to just stop thinking about work and not be overwhelmed by it.

These pants were part of the pilot collection when we started out 3 years ago. It got shelved because it needed too much time, or I forgot where I kept it very safely, or I'd worked on it for a while and got bored. Happens. So I kept it for another day and that day came now. One whole month of working on this alone, on and off.

Whenever the thought of work came, I just picked these up and worked them so I could tell my brain it's busy with "work" already. Throughout music like this played along. I have a whole playlist.

I can't thank enough for his constant support and patience but also just his presence 🥹🤗
They turned out good in the end no?

37 hours working on these pants. Still quite a bit to go.
What I've learnt from my pause so far:
1. I don't enjoy social media. I do it because I have to. And some of you tell me I'm good at it so I think I'm enjoying it. I'm not.
2. I have a LOT of great ideas and I don't follow through because I'm overwhelmed. The ideas come fast. It takes way way longer to test them. And I'm running a race I never signed up for, infact I had deliberately dropped out of. But I'm still running it, without realising.
3. There are no rules to build something like this. I have to stop looking at this like a business and look at it as a sustenance. That'll take pressure off. And make it easier to pick values over money always!
4. You all seem to be very aligned with me and what Phir stands for. I don't know how it happened. But I'm so very glad it has.

Let's make our own path 💚✨

Yesterday I realised I haven't sat in silence in a very very long time. Possibly years! There's always music, an audiobook, a podcast or a movie playing in the background. My overwhelm is in some parts coming from constantly consuming content too, I thought. So I worked in silence yesterday.
It was excruciating in the beginning. Checked the time 15min in. But ended up sitting there for 1.5h. Allowed all of my thoughts to come but none were allowed to linger.
After a meal break when I say back down to work, I thought, enough for today with the silence. Let me play some movie. And then stopped it 15min in. I just didn't need something to drown out my thoughts anymore.
That was yesterday. Today I needed some drowning out 🤭 But doing this exercise reminded me that it IS possible. I'll do it more often now!

So many of you are going to come at me with "I told you so!" 🤣 Yes dost. I'll try and listen more!

I'm not sure how long I need this break for. Maybe a week, a month, can't say just yet. But I'll share as soon as I know!
For now, if you've liked what I've shared here so far, please continue engaging with the bare basic posts coming next.

For those of you whose orders are pending, don't worry, your work is continuing, just not going to spend as much time here.
And not taking up new orders until I can get myself sorted 💚

Describe to me, badly only, which of these you want to know the story behind next.
I'll give you an example: that one that looks like the corridor from The Shining 👯‍♀️
