According to Laila Tyabji, Chikankari stems from the white-on-white embroidery of Shiraz that came to India as part of a culture of Persian nobles at the Mughal court. The most popular origin story credits Noor Jahan, Mughal empress and wife of Jahangir, with introducing chikankari to India. I love her so much for introducing this artsy to Lucknow. I have always love white on white. Here I experimented chikankari on a different colour. Constructed and styled green chikan anarkali from scratch.
