Day 6: September 27, Saturday - Color of the day is Grey - Goddess Katyayani

The sixth day of Navratri is dedicated to Katyayani, which means “one who was born in the Katyayan lineage”. She is the sixth manifestation of Goddess Durga and represents courage and victory.
She rides on a lion, has four arms, three eyes and carries a sword, a shield, a lotus, and a mudra (gesture) of blessing in her hands. Her right hands can be seen in the varada mudra (bestowing boons) and abhaya mudra (represents removal of fear, benevolence and protection). With the crescent moon adorning her forehead, Goddess Katyayani rides a lion.
She is also known as Mahishasura Mardini (slayer of the demon Mahishasura), Bhadrakali, and Jagadamba.

Grey is the colour of this day, which signifies growth and harmony. It also symbolizes nature, fertility, and balance. Wearing grey helps overcome challenges and negativity

Goddess Katyayani, the fierce warrior goddess, destroys negativity and embodies courage. . Katyayani's worship brings strength, courage, and protection from evil forces.

Navaratri Day 5: Colour - Green - Goddess Skandamata

On the fifth day of Navratri, we honour Skandamata, the gentle mother of Skanda (Kartikeya). She symbolizes compassion and motherhood, riding fearlessly on a lion. The colour green, her hue of the day, represents joy, optimism, and harmony — wearing it is believed to invite her blessings of abundance and peace.

✨ Our muse for the day is the ever-graceful Cini Padmanabhan, an integral part of Shuto. Her constant encouragement inspires me to always take that one extra step 💕. A counselor by profession, she nurtures hearts through her counselling centre — a role she embodies with her kindness and warmth.

She looks radiant in a hand-embroidered Chanderi saree from our much-loved collection; hand embroidered with delicate floral motifs lovingly created by our artisans — each piece a true labour of love. 🌸
