Art. Family. Craft. Community.

At Capisvirleo, they’re not four different things. They never were.

Three generations of women. One shared belief. And a thread of unity that runs through all of it.

A Mṛjā Collective visit to Capisvirleo, Bathinda!

₹44800 on Ralph Lauren’s website for a wrap skirt. “”Inspired by Bandhani tie-dye,”” it says when it’s actually hand-knotted in Gujarat for centuries.

Prada’s latest “”Kolhapuri inspired”” sandals but what about the cultural appropiation or the GI tag?

Ikat, paisley prints, madras checks–Indian craft is everywhere just rarely called Indian.

This is what happens when provenance gets skipped. The technique travels but the due credit doesn’t. And slowly but surely, a living craft tradition becomes someone else’s aesthetic.

Provenance isn’t a buzzword. It’s the difference between an artisan being seen and being erased. It matters because when you know where something comes from, that is, who made it, how, and what it took to make, you change what it’s worth. To the market. To the maker. To the craft itself.

And that’s what we’re building Mṛjā around. Every single brand, every single piece with the story that travels with it.

Two cities. One season. One state of mind.

Summer doesn’t just arrive, it completely transforms.

In India, it begins with mangoes, open windows, evening gup sessions, and a slower rhythm of living. Heat softens time. Colour feels inevitable. The season carries the quiet intimacy once captured by Amrita Sher-Gil where stillness, community, emotion, and atmosphere define the moment.

In New York, summer is release. The city sheds its layers, steps into light, and moves with renewed confidence. Rooftops awaken, streets hum, and individuality takes centre stage a modern energy reminiscent of Tamara de Lempicka, bold, sculptural, and unapologetically self-assured.

Two climates. Two tempos. But one shared feeling: freedom.

We’ve been to New York before. This summer, we return in June.

Craft travels. Culture evolves. Summer becomes the meeting point. Watch this space for more.

Slow Sundays - doing absolutely nothing with your siblings. Just lounging, existing, being ourselves. Each of us doing what we want and being accepted for it.

No plans, no expectations, no need to perform. Just quiet company, familiar comfort, and many small annoyances. The snack war is too real! 🧡

Maybe doing nothing was always the point. Shop Alaya for some of the most comfortable fits this summer!

: A .collective curation

India has always been known for its silk — and Capisvirleo brings you the kind that feels like a second skin. Effortless. Luscious. Alive.
What drew us in was the dyes. Every piece carries colour that cannot be replicated - because the process simply won’t allow it. Small batch, one of one, and deeply, unapologably itself.
We hear it often: sustainable fashion must mean muted. Capisvirleo disagrees. Loudly, beautifully, in every tone.
And then we spoke to Ish*ta - and her commitment to working with women’s collectives to bring these pieces to life sealed it for us. This is craft with intention. These aren’t pieces you wear once. They’re pieces you pass down.
The trench coat. The silk pants. You’ll know when you see them.

Pieces people kept coming back to - so we took a hint and shot them in Tribeca, a neighbourhood that resonates with .collective - built on artists, storytelling and community.

100 silk. Handcrafted. Artisanal. Tie-dyed by hand.
