AMAR KOSA is a word derived from Sanskrit which embodies eternal treasure. India is a land that has cultivated myriad designs and the best fabric. So advanced was this land that it started cultivating and trading the best quality cotton from the hinterland of Indus to the valleys of Nile and to the valleys of Tigris, circa 2500 BC. Taking a leaf from our ancestors, we have created a fusion between

Yellow found me when I was broken. It hasn't left since.

I fractured my leg. First thing I did — painted my cast. Yellow.

Block print. If I had to wear it, it was going to be beautiful.
Then the wall. Same colour. Same reason.

Kashmir. My rituals. My brand. Yellow keeps showing up—essential.

What keeps finding you when you're not looking?

For me it's the lotus. I didn't go looking for it.

A road trip to Mulki. A lotus pond right outside where we stayed. Pink shorts I'd packed without thinking. A dress I'd already made in indigo — pink tassels tied by hand. A tattoo on my skin I've had for years. A pillar I painted floor to ceiling. A canvas I keep returning to.

Same flower. Every time. In every form.

The lotus doesn't wait for perfect conditions. It grows in the muddiest water and blooms anyway.

I think that's what it's been trying to tell me.

Somewhere along the way "classy" became code for colourless.

Your signature colour being black isn't a signature — it's a default.

And dressing in all black to look thin? That's the saddest trade — swapping joy for a size.

We dress our daughters in pink, yellow, red. Then teach them to grow up and wear black. What happens in between?

The women who changed the world never dressed to blend in.

And a woman in colour is not trying to get attention. She's just not trying to avoid it anymore.

A lake in Russia so clear that when it freezes, the ice turns turquoise. A glacier in Antarctica that bleeds red from water trapped for nearly 2 million years. A beach in Hawaii where the sand is green. Mountains in China painted in stripes no human hand ever touched. A volcano in Indonesia that burns blue at night. A lake in Australia that's bubblegum pink year-round.

No filter. No edit. No artist. Just the earth doing what it's been doing for millions of years – colour.

We scroll past sunsets without stopping. We fly over oceans without looking down. We've forgotten that the most extraordinary colours on earth aren't on a screen. They're under our feet.

The greatest artists didn't follow colour rules. They followed obsession.

Frida painted yellow at her most broken. Rothko wanted people to cry in front of a wall of red. Van Gogh couldn't stop painting yellow — maybe it was the only bright thing he had left.

Picasso lost his best friend and stopped using every colour except blue. For four years.

Klein invented his own blue. Then patented it. Kusama saw dots as a child — they terrified her. She's been painting them for 70 years.

They painted what they felt. You do the same thing every morning when you get dressed. You just don't call it art.
