There is something special about opening a handwoven saree outdoors and watching the colours, motifs and textures slowly come alive.

What begins as a folded textile gradually reveals layers of craftsmanship — a border, a butta, a pallu, a detail you didn’t notice before.

And that is the beauty of handloom.

Some frames in Banaras cannot be planned.

While filming this red Munga silk Banarasi woven with kadhwa buttas, I found an unexpected co-star sitting comfortably in the middle of the lane.

For a moment, the shoot paused.

And then I realised the moment itself was the story.

That is the charm of Banaras.

The city never performs for the camera.It simply continues being itself.

And if you’re patient enough, it lets you become part of the frame.

What Chanderi taught me is that the finest things rarely ask for attention.

That lightness can take immense skill.

That elegance does not always come from excess.

That a fabric can be delicate in appearance and strong in character.

Over the course of this Chanderi series, I’ve looked closely at its transparency, its movement, its motifs, its craftsmanship, and its quiet beauty.

And if there is one lesson that stays with me, it is this:
