Dear friends, as soon as I open my Instagram of FB, all i see is Vacation pics! Whether it is tourism or Revenge Tourism (a phenomenon that has people who are tired of mundane everyday routines due to lock downs, rush to travel to nearby destinations for short breaks.) I am clueless, But here are 11 cyber security tips to keep in mind on your next vacation, for a happy and safe vacation.
1. Use public WiFi only with VPN.
2. Think before you install any unknown apps at eateries and other places. Check for the permissions it asks for.
3. Turn off Bluetooth when idle. Unless you want to become a victim of blue snarfing.
4. Never use public computers to log into any of your accounts. Especially kiosk PCs in airports or hotels.
5. Disable international usage on your debit or credit cards once you are back home!
6. Set up the find my phone feature, if you haven't.
7. Be aware while you check in. Better to post/check in after you leave that particular place.
8. Backup all your files
9. Use secure passwords, proper password safety and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
10. Install antivirus protection
11. Be prepared to unlock devices when crossing international borders. So make sure your device doesn't have any sensitive data!
