As an avid traveler, when I am going from place to place, I always look for undiscovered or undermined art of the specific area. I have come across of many of unique arts from different regions. To name a few which I was impressed with are Chou dance of Purulia, Scroll painting of amadubi jharkhand, Batik prints of Shantiniketan , Pattachitra of Raghurajpur, Appliqué work of Pipli Odisha, Bagh of Madhay Pradesh and Bandhej of Rajesthan.
The same passion of art took me to the wonderland of weaving. Weaving can be traced back to the Indus valley civilization .Textile was important article of internal and external trade. In ancient as well as in medieval times traveler from different part of world awestruck by the quality and variety of our enriched weaving. Even today Indian weavers astonishing the world with sheerness of Chanderi or rustic Tussar.
Hold my hand and we reached on earth of weavers in varanasi, where these floral intricacy gets a life with touch of weavers hand. where the stones depicting history of Maheshwar fort find their place as the border of Maheshwari silk saree and the color of kanchipuram village dies the threads of Kanchipuram silk. These masterpieces and many others like these are taking our inherent weaves and patterns to fashion runways of the world.
