The best investment you can make in your child is the work you do on yourself.

The culture of a home isn't built in grand moments.

It's built in the little things we make feel normal.

What have you made feel normal in your home?

The questions we ask reveal the parents we're becoming.

Some questions change behaviour.

Some questions change identity.

I've noticed that she rarely asks me for the "best activity" anymore.

Instead, she wonders what her daughter is learning from things she never planned to teach.

Patience. Respect. Curiosity. The way conflict is handled. The way love is expressed.

Children don't just learn from what we say.

They learn from what feels normal in our presence.

Maybe that's the deeper question:

What have I made feel normal in my home?

That's what children carry into the world.

She thinks she's not doing enough.

I don't.

Over the past year, I've watched her question herself more times than I can count.

She wonders if she's giving her daughter enough activities. Enough learning. Enough experiences.

But here's what I notice.

She doesn't ask, "How do I make my daughter easier to handle?"

She asks, "How do I understand her better?"

There's a difference.

One tries to change the child. The other begins by changing the parent.

Maybe that's what growth looks like.

Not having all the answers.

Just choosing curiosity over control, again and again.

If you're a parent reading this, here's something I hope you remember today:

Your child may not remember every activity you planned.

But they'll remember how they felt with you.

❤️

Save this for the days you feel like you're not doing enough.

How many times have we mistaken a child's behavior for "bad behavior" when it was really a cry for connection?

I recently caught myself doing exactly that.

She yelled. I yelled back.

Later, I realized something that stayed with me: She wasn't trying to make my life difficult. She was trying to tell me something in the only way she knew.

As parents, we won't always get it right. I certainly don't.

But every conflict gives us a choice: React... or get curious.

Sometimes, the biggest shift in parenting doesn't happen in our child. It happens in us.

Motherhood changed everything. 🤍

Not just my routines, but the way I see the world.
The little moments I once overlooked now feel meaningful. I find myself learning, unlearning, and growing every single day alongside my daughter.

This journey led me to explore Montessori education, conscious parenting, and the importance of the environment we create for our children—not just through what we teach, but through how we appear, behave, and communicate.

After a long pause, I'm returning to this space with a new purpose.

Here, I'll be sharing my journey through motherhood, parenting insights, Montessori-inspired ideas, lessons I'm learning along the way, and a little behind-the-scenes of building HappieBums.

Thank you for being here. 🌿
Here's to learning, growing, and raising little humans with intention. ✨
