Tula is a social enterprise around organic desi cotton production and subsequent value chain, started by a group of volunteers to bring about a replicable model to enhance the livelihoods of various people involved in the cotton value chain. This not-for-profit venture is to promote organic production of traditional Desi cotton which shall be procured at a premium, hand spun, hand woven, natural

dyed, manually stitched garments which in turn renders better livelihoods to all the artisans in the value chain. in simple words, this shall be the lightest and most eco friendly garments one can ever sport.

Dear Designer/ Teachers/ design-enthusiasts,

We are delighted to bring to your notice that *Tula Organic Clothing* (www.tula.org.in) is planning a small celebration *on June 13 & 14th (sat/sunday) at “Spaces”, Elliots beach Road (near Thalappakatti), Besant nagar, Chennai*. (10am-7pm)

During this event, we shall bring all our special value chain /stages of Tula through various Hands-on workshops through which one can witness and even “Experience the Tula Experience”!

* Conversation and deep discussion with designers on various aspects of the fashion/textile industry
* Discussion on the role of fossil fuels in fashion and textile production
* Understanding the use of toxic chemicals in the industry
* Exploring pollution caused by the fashion/textile sector
* Discussing the large environmental footprint left behind by the industry
* Reflecting on what we are leaving behind for future generations — clean air, soil, water, and ecology
* Talking about sustainable alternatives in fashion and textiles
* Exploring possible, tested, and tried solutions and alternatives
* Discussing path corrections that can be proposed for the next generation
* Understanding “How Sustainable is Sustainability” in fashion/textiles
* Discussing what individuals can actually do towards sustainability
* Discussing the role and responsibility of designers in creating sustainable change
* Exploring what communities and collectives can do together for a more sustainable future
* Creating awareness around conscious fashion and responsible practices
* Encouraging collaborative thinking for a healthier and more sustainable ecosystem

The above mentioned workshops are a comprehensive 2-day learning experience, conducted over two consecutive days. Day 2 is a continuation of Day 1, allowing participants to deepen their learning and complete the full creative process.

Participants can choose either of the following batches:

Day 1 & Day 2 (Each workshop 2 Sessions)
