Carbs are an important macronutrients and an essential source of energy for the body.

There's room for both types in our diet as long as we're being mindful of the balance.

✨ Simple carbs are sugars that's are easy to digest(like quick burning fuel). These source of carbs although super tasty, are typically lower in fiber, vitamins & minerals. Many process food are simple carbs due to the fact that they have added sugar and refined flour / instead of whole grains and or natural ingredients.
These food are not bad if you consumed in moderation, but they are everywhere so we tend to get more of these than we realized.

Example of Simple Carbs:-
👉Sugar, fructose corn syrup.
👉White Bread.
👉White Pasta.
👉 Fruit Juice.
👉Candy
👉Jam
👉 Cookies

✨Complex carbs pack in more nutrients than simple carbs. They're complex both in the way of the body uses them and in their consituition. These source are typically higher in fiber and they provide a more lasting source of energy because they took longer to digest. These also make them more filling. These food are natural, whole food options that we get always use more of:

Example of Complex Carbs:-
👉 Whole Grains (oats, buckweat, quinoa, whole wheat)
👉Beans , lentils
👉 Fruits including kiwi, apricot, Banana.
👉 Starchy Veggies
