Beta-lactams (e.g., penicillins) inhibit bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, causing cell rupture.
Aminoglycosides (e.g., gentamicin) bind to the 30S ribosomal subunit, disrupting protein synthesis and causing bacterial cell death.
Tetracyclines (e.g., doxycycline) also bind to the 30S ribosome, blocking protein synthesis and preventing bacterial growth. Each class targets key bacterial processes to fight infections effectively.
