This journey of ours began few years back when we wanted to start something of our own but with a mission. We always wanted to work with the fabrics of Assam and rest of NE, but it was not possible for us to start a unit there and do some work in Delhi as well. This is when we started buying from the individual weavers (and not any society or NGO) the ready products and fabrics .And then the produ
ction part came. Where to do the developments of products?? And the reply was …why not rope in the ladies who does stitching jobs at home, who are good at work but do not go out of homes to work. There were few ladies who were not interested and others who like us wanted to move ahead in life. We managed to start our work with one part time pattern master and two ladies who worked from home and still does the same for us. Now we have started to see the difference .We are now selling online ,have some permanent customers and looking forward to more. There are few more ladies who have joined us to do our work from home. Our effort is to bring out the best from everyone working with us. The weavers are more than happy to give their products to us, as they trust we can use them in a better way. They now create new designs for us, we are sourcing from more places now, we are doing more work and hope to do even more. Its a small family where all of us share our creative ideas. We are happy that we are changing a few lives, they trust us and support us. And happy to share and show you what we have done so far in the journey. So when you see a little product here you can feel the love and care of a weaver sitting far way from you, a lady who after doing her household things sits and stitches this for you and her little kid standing beside her and watching it done.
