📢 Summary of Major Immigration Changes Coming to Canada! 🇨🇦
Immigration Minister Marc Miller has announced significant reforms aimed at improving the fairness and integrity of Canada’s immigration system:
🔹 No Extra Points for LMIA Job Offers:
Express Entry candidates will no longer receive bonus points for job offers supported by LMIA. This change is designed to reduce fraud in the system and create a fairer playing field for all applicants.
🔹 Expanded Authority for Immigration Officials:
Immigration officers now have increased powers to suspend, amend, or cancel visas and applications in cases of mass fraud. This will ensure faster action in critical situations.
🔹 Flagpoling Ban:
Temporary residents already in Canada must apply online for extensions. Crossing the border (flagpoling) for faster processing will no longer be permitted.
🔹 Faster Processing of False Asylum Claims:
The asylum system will be optimized to quickly address illegitimate claims, aligning with similar measures already implemented in the United States.
💡 These updates aim to safeguard resources, enhance fairness, and maintain the integrity of Canada’s immigration system.
